It’s time for us to give a warm welcome to Lucy in Disguise, as pop princess Lily Allen is set to turn her talents into designing her own clothing line.
It was just last year Lily chose to say goodbye to fame and hello to fashion after opening a vintage clothing store with her older sister Sarah Allen. Those of you who tuned into her recent reality show ‘From riches to rags’ will be aware that the Lucy brand already has a stand-alone store in Covent Garden. Keen to keep things fresh, the stylish siblings plan to turn designers hoping to release a ‘ready-to-wear’ collection of 18 dresses this June.
June is already set to be a busy month for Lily, being the month of her long awaited nuptials to fiancée Sam Cooper; leaving many worrying that the stress of it all might be too much for the 25-year-old. But let’s not doubt Lily yet, she has got experience in designing after all. New Look fans will remember she famously worked with the store creating the Lily Loves capsule collection in 2007.
So what can you expect from the new Lucy line?
Sticking to their vintage theme, the collection promises to be very forties inspired with Lily describing the dresses to be reminiscent of ‘a time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe’.
Spectacular as they may be, the dresses are sure to be quite pricey but it’s a sacrifice to make if you want to inject some real vintage glamour into your wardrobe.
Available in June, the collection will be sold exclusively at Harvey Nichols in the UK, as well as their own store and on their website.
